This was orginally posted in August 2010. I thought I'd repost it now that summer is quickly approaching:
I remember going to a drive-in theatre once when I was a kid. Even back then (in the early eighties) drive-ins were quickly becoming a thing of the past. I don't remember what movie we saw, but I'll always remember how exciting it was watching a movie on the big screen, under the stars, in the back of our car, with my family. It's memories like that, that I try to make with my own children.
Did you know that we have an actual working drive-in theatre just down the road from us?
Family Drive-In Theatre is located in Stephens City, Virginia. They have two screens and play four movies a night. They are only open on the weekends until the end of October. Go here to get directions or to find out more. It's not too late to start an end of summer tradition that your children will always remember.
Don't live in Northern Virginia, but want to go to a drive-in movie? Go here to find out if there is a drive-in theatre near you.
