Every New Year we have each one of the kids put on their favorite outfit and we sit them down, one at a time, for an annual recorded (DVD) interview. My sister Shawna and her husband Scott came up with this idea and we have LOVED incorporating it into our own family traditions. The questions are the same twenty every year and range from "If you could tell the world one thing what would it be?" (Our 6 year old daughter's answer this year was, "To bring me all the lollipops.") to "Who do you think you will marry when you grow up?" (Our 9 yr old son's response, "Why would you ask that?") Sometimes the interview strays from the original questions but that is not only okay it is welcomed! We've loved looking at how they have changed as well as how their answers have changed through the years. These DVDs are a part of our family history and among our most treasured possessions. They are a tangible reminder that these are precious times and are gone too soon.
