Getting Fit Fridays: GET YOUR GROOVE ON!
For the past few months I have lost my running partners due to injuries and schedules (totally lame). I have been forced to run solo for long periods of time (totally lame). As most of us do, I LOVE listening to upbeat music when I run. But I have to admit, I get SO sick of the songs after a few weeks.
I am constantly updating the latest "b-boppin'," get your self a movin' type songs. I beg Ann to burn me new ones, search Itunes, and listen to 99.5...all in hopes in finding new songs to get my groove on.
And it has been working. At last week's Cherry Blossom 10 miler, I found 3 new songs to listen to while I raced. I loved them so much, I actually listened to them over and over again. As I was coming to the finish, I started my favorite one and found it amazingly simple to pick my pace up and finish strong!
If I have a new and fun play list to listen to...I am actually excited to run!
So no matter what you do to "groove," download some music to give you that extra inspiration...it really works.
I thought today I would share my latest favorites:
Tonight, Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae
Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO
Pretty Girl Rock by Keri Hilson
Price Tag by Jessie J
Coming Home by Diddy
Hey Baby by Pitbull
Just Can't Get Enough by The Black Eyed Peas
Forget You (Glee Cast Version with Gweneth)
Forget You by Cee Lo
Marry You by Bruno Mars
Stuck Like You by Sugarland
River of Love by George Strait
Raise Your Glass by Pink
We R Who We R by Ke$ha
Club Can't Handle It by Flo Rida
Animal by Neon Trees
Don't Bring Me Down by the Black Eyed Peas
And for one lucky reader, I will burn and send you this entire play list! To enter, simply comment with your favorite groove song and what type of exercise you love to do!

One of my favorite songs that always puts me in a good mood and makes me want to dance/run is Michael Franti's "Say Hey (I love you)." Try it out!!
I am loving Coldplay right now. I am a runner and have a half-marathon next week so I'm always looking for new music!
I agree...music makes all the difference on your runs! My new favorite is E.T. by Katy Perry ft. Kanye West. Good luck in Boston!
Boom Boom Pow and Forget You...awesome!! 2009igr@gmail.com
Avril Lavigne (sp?) "What the Hell"
I just started running and you're right, the music makes all the difference!
