A Month of Valentines/Sunday Dinners: My Favorite Chili Recipe


Tonight was our big Family Valentine Party. The boys decorated all morning--they had so much fun! The boys loved playing Pass the Pig and Pin the Lips on the Tiger. We ended up with a full house--15 adults and 19 kids! We had a great time. This chili recipe was one of the things served tonight.

Day 31: My Favorite Chili Recipe

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef, browned and drained
2 medium onions, diced
1 green bell pepper diced
2 cups chopped celery
3 (28-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
2 T. Ground cumin
4 tsp. Chili powder
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 packages chili seasoning mix (I prefer the reduced sodium version)

Shredded cheddar, sour cream, chopped green onions, for garnish

Directions:
In a skillet brown ground beef, drain and set aside.

Combine all ingredients is large crock pot. Cook on low setting for 5 or so hours.
Serve with Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and green onions
